Never a dull moment

Hello again! It is currently a chilly 13 degrees outside today ,but I am inside with the heater on, so i guess i can’t complain too much! Unlike my poor friends and relatives in WA who copped some power blackouts over the last couple of days! I hope you guys are managing to stay warm and safe with all that wild weather you’re having!
I personally dont mind the wild weather, but i don’t know how i’d go if we had another blackout! I still remember the last one we had,and it was the worst 4 hours of my life! (no tv, no lights = bored and scared children!) At least it was exciting trying to find the emergency candles by the light of my phone!  Ahhh that was fun …not!!

So- Whats been happening with u lately? I haven’t really done much..as you can tell by my lack of blogging.. but i can assure you ,the madness is still around in full force!

This morning i was up at stupid ‘o’clock, because Master 3 decided to climb into bed with me and as usual, when he gets in- i end up half way out, so there i am- after only a few hours sleep, hanging out of the bed -freezing cold, because my darling son had all the blankets on himself and left me with none!
(It’s days like these i can understand why some animals eat their young!)
So i thought i may as well just get up and get the older 2 kids ready for school- (got them all dropped off with seconds to spare before the bell went, despite my early start!), Then I decided to go into town and check the mail for a parcel i’ve been waiting for (A Doctor Who tee shirt!) but alas is wasn’t in yet!

So i thought i’d grab a cappuccino and take my son for a long overdue haircut!
So i went to pop him into the car to drive down to the hair dressers, when a huge spider (that had been sitting on the back of the passenger side seat) decided to throw itself off the seat and onto the floor near my son!
Now what happened next i can only explain as “mothers instinct” ,because the second I saw a threat to my child, I had my leg up ,all ninja like- and *squashed that 8 legged beast within milliseconds of seeing it! Now that may not sound like a big deal to most of you who own a small sedan, but my car happens to be an 8 seater van, and you have to climb up onto a step before you can even get into the vehical-so you can imagine how high i had to get my leg to be able to squash that bug!
Fot the next few moments ,I just stood there, amazed at how limber i was after all these years and relieved i had managed to kill (obliterate) the spider before it could bite my child! It was a feeling that will probably stay with me for a long time to come!

* Normally I’m a catch and release kind of gal,but in this instance, it was a reflex action which i had no control over! I did say sorry to it,as i wiped it off my shoe….

So anyway, long story short- we finally ended up getting down to the hairdressers-got in straight away (yay!) and now my son has a lovely new short hair do ,which he is absolutely thrilled about (because the lovely hairdresser lady put blue wax in his hair and gave him blue tips on his new spikes!)

Well, all that it’s not even lunch time! True story!

Before i sign off today, i just wanted to make a special announcement to the world (or to whoever reads these things!) .. My best friends dad has beaten Cancer!!!
We were all very suprised, but so very grateful for this miracle!
It’s stuff like this that kind of restores my faith.
I had almost forgotten what it feels like to have something GOOD happen! 🙂

Will try and be back again soon ,to blog about more of the random madness that goes on in this place!

Untill next time,
Take care of yourselves!

Interesting Interests…

Hello readers! How are you on this fine Monday evening? I have just finished dinner and now i am full as a goog!
So here i sit, reflecting back on our dinner time conversation with the kids, and i thought i would share some of it with you folk!
First of all ,we (well, the kids) discussed how they didn’t like the pasta sauce i used on their pasta. (must remember to add that to the big long list of foods they DON’T like)
After the complaints about my cooking, my eldest son informs me that he would like to take up soccer. I wasn’t suprised really, as he had bought it up once before, but at the time, he was too young to join any teams in our area, so it was kind of filed away “to be discussed later”.
Well, apparantly he is old enough to join a team now, so looks like i’m gonna have to start looking around for places that have junior soccer teams,to enroll him into. I’m gonna be a soccer mum!!! Guess this means i’ll have to sit through countless saturday morning games, rain ,hail and shine, watching my little darling kicking goals and scoring hoops or whatever they do in soccer. oh boy, can’t wait!

Speaking of my sons interests, he also informed me that he would very much like to learn how to play an instrument! Yep, my son loves music, and has often told me that he wants to take up playing one thing or another! First it was the guitar, then the drums, then the keyboard. Well this week, he has informed me that he wants to learn how to play …the bagpipes.
I personally can’t say I’ve ever tried the bagpipes myself, but it looks pretty difficult. I told him if he still wants to learn the bagpipes by Christmas time, Santa might have to get him some. (can we all take a moment to cross our fingers and pray he outgrows this one..for the sake of my sanity and my ear drums!!!)
Why do boys have to like noisy things for?? Why can’t they be more like my daughter, who would happily spend hours threading beads onto string, or stickytaping the cats legs together or something??? another one of lifes mysteries i guess!

Well after we discussed these things we had pretty much finished our meal (well, the kids had their very best try but were full up …) so we then cleared the table and now the kids are getting ready for bed.

I don’t know about you, but i am absolutely worn out!

Well in saying that, i should go finish getting the kids ready for bed, then get their school stuff ready and THEN mummy can sit down and reflect some more on the days events.

Thanks for stopping by guys, hopefully i shall find the time to blog again soon!

Take care ,
Raych xoxo

Who wants a kitten for Christmas????

Hello Readers, Tis I, your friendly neighbourhood blogger, coming at you LIVE from my laptop straight to you!
Sooooo, how have you all been since i saw you last? good? Did you all have a lovely Halloween? After all my efforts of buying treats, and not shaving for a week, to get that scary hairy look- we didn’t even end up getting any trick-or-treaters, typical!
But it was still nice to get into the spirit of things, and the kids had a great time getting dressed up into their costumes for their school halloween party!

Well the next big thing to happen here, will be Christmas!! Only 30 something days to go i believe! getting closerrrrr!!! Still have more christmas shopping to do. I would’ve done it a week or so ago, but i have been sick with the flu. At least i am feeling a bit better now, must mean i’m getting over it! yay!

I have been working on my YA story a bit,in my spare time, and that seems to be coming along alright. Still a long way from being finished, but the idea is certainly coming together! Can’t wait untill it’s finished so i can share it with you all! 🙂

One last thing before i sign off, i just wanted to let you know that the kittens are getting so big now and so very cute! It is almost time for them to find new families to live with!!! It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the little cuties, but it has to be done! (especially seeing as one of the kittens has learnt how to climb up onto my bed,and sleep on my head) – it’s all well and good, untill u have a sneezing fit from all the cat hair in your face! So yes, if you’re interested in adopting one of my furry little bundles of kittyness, let me know!

oky doky- time for me to vamoose! see u all next time,
