Never a dull moment

Hello again! It is currently a chilly 13 degrees outside today ,but I am inside with the heater on, so i guess i can’t complain too much! Unlike my poor friends and relatives in WA who copped some power blackouts over the last couple of days! I hope you guys are managing to stay warm and safe with all that wild weather you’re having!
I personally dont mind the wild weather, but i don’t know how i’d go if we had another blackout! I still remember the last one we had,and it was the worst 4 hours of my life! (no tv, no lights = bored and scared children!) At least it was exciting trying to find the emergency candles by the light of my phone!  Ahhh that was fun …not!!

So- Whats been happening with u lately? I haven’t really done much..as you can tell by my lack of blogging.. but i can assure you ,the madness is still around in full force!

This morning i was up at stupid ‘o’clock, because Master 3 decided to climb into bed with me and as usual, when he gets in- i end up half way out, so there i am- after only a few hours sleep, hanging out of the bed -freezing cold, because my darling son had all the blankets on himself and left me with none!
(It’s days like these i can understand why some animals eat their young!)
So i thought i may as well just get up and get the older 2 kids ready for school- (got them all dropped off with seconds to spare before the bell went, despite my early start!), Then I decided to go into town and check the mail for a parcel i’ve been waiting for (A Doctor Who tee shirt!) but alas is wasn’t in yet!

So i thought i’d grab a cappuccino and take my son for a long overdue haircut!
So i went to pop him into the car to drive down to the hair dressers, when a huge spider (that had been sitting on the back of the passenger side seat) decided to throw itself off the seat and onto the floor near my son!
Now what happened next i can only explain as “mothers instinct” ,because the second I saw a threat to my child, I had my leg up ,all ninja like- and *squashed that 8 legged beast within milliseconds of seeing it! Now that may not sound like a big deal to most of you who own a small sedan, but my car happens to be an 8 seater van, and you have to climb up onto a step before you can even get into the vehical-so you can imagine how high i had to get my leg to be able to squash that bug!
Fot the next few moments ,I just stood there, amazed at how limber i was after all these years and relieved i had managed to kill (obliterate) the spider before it could bite my child! It was a feeling that will probably stay with me for a long time to come!

* Normally I’m a catch and release kind of gal,but in this instance, it was a reflex action which i had no control over! I did say sorry to it,as i wiped it off my shoe….

So anyway, long story short- we finally ended up getting down to the hairdressers-got in straight away (yay!) and now my son has a lovely new short hair do ,which he is absolutely thrilled about (because the lovely hairdresser lady put blue wax in his hair and gave him blue tips on his new spikes!)

Well, all that it’s not even lunch time! True story!

Before i sign off today, i just wanted to make a special announcement to the world (or to whoever reads these things!) .. My best friends dad has beaten Cancer!!!
We were all very suprised, but so very grateful for this miracle!
It’s stuff like this that kind of restores my faith.
I had almost forgotten what it feels like to have something GOOD happen! 🙂

Will try and be back again soon ,to blog about more of the random madness that goes on in this place!

Untill next time,
Take care of yourselves!
